2-24-18 Nice day again out there,,tried shallow but had a ripping north current so it was not good in there besides a few perch bites,,,headed deeper and had a few short codfish,a ling and thats about it..Slow day for sure….Good to get out either way,,,tomorrow is no good so we are canceled…Southeast winds gusting up to 30mph..so stay home..let you know the next nice day….
2-18-18 Wow was that a nice day out there today,,,loads of life offshore…Cant say the fishing was good where we put fish in the box but things are changing out there..inshore to…I noticed the first bunches of bunker on the beach…First I have seen since the fall….and offshore the herring and mackerel are stacked up on the edge of the mudhole…I am expecting some nice batches of codfish to start channeling in after all this bait…today we had a handful of short cod,,,few short blackfish..good life with the perch..and some other exotics…so not good but promising for sure..I look forward to getting back out there tomorrow and snoop around….on way back in we had whales in front of inlet scooping up the bunker that I saw in the morning…things are on the move with these longer days..I think we are over the hump…I hope…this week looks great,,we are fishing everyday..see ya tomorrow..
2-15-18 Flat calm,,,today but tomorrow is no good with gusts up to 40mph so stay home..Looks like Friday is the next day we are gonna fish..Few blackfish today,,one keeper some shorts..few ling..couple short codfish..the other stuff to ..some perch eels etc..Overall not that productive ….So as of now Friday is the next day to get out there..See ya then..
2-15-18 Nice ocean,,good conditions….An improvement in the fishing today to,,,had a showing of Codfish on the grounds..The boat probably had over 20 codfish,,,mostly all smaller fish but a good sign…..Half a dozen ling in the mix and a few small blackfish..Decent perch life,,,and the other exotics as well…So maybe we can see a turn in the fishing..we shall see…The weather looks good enough for us to shape up tomorrow,,,The weekend looks good as of now to..We shall see stay tuned but as for tomorrow…we are fishing…see ya for coffee…
2-14-18 Nice ocean conditions today,,only a small crowd but we made it out anyway given its such a nice day..Ended having some life,,,not good for the coolers though,,,Had maybe 8 codfish but they were short..good to see though…they looked like they just arrived…Maybe a sign of things to come,,,short blackfish and 1 ling,,,,the usual eels and sharks….good day to be out regardless..we are fishing tomorrow..so come on down…see ya then..
2-9-18 Very nice day offshore,,,flat calm….water was very cold though,,,,tide out of the northeast had it 4 degrees colder than last trip…37.5 degrees in the area we fished….With that the fishing was slower as well,,,perch life was dull,,,had a nice keeper blackfish and codfish,,,few shorts of each and some small pollock..one a keeper…Some other exotics but slow day overall,,,water warmed up quite a bit when we took off in another direction at the end of the day so maybe tomorrow we will see that warmer Southeast current and have a better chew….We are fishing tomorrow,,looks like its gonna be a nice day again and we already have guys coming down..I have crabs and clams ready to go…See ya in the morning.few pics..
2-6-17 Very nice out there today,,flat calm….Fishing was like yesterday,,high hook had 3 keepers,Frankie had two,,few others had one,,Pauly won the pool,,not as many shorts as yesterday but still guys had 3-6 a piece….I will let you know when it looks good again here..So standby until then…pics…
2-5-17 A bit lumpy this morning..Looked like it was gonna get nasty but the wind turned west and dropped out..So did the ocean…Nice day…Actually had a decent bite today..Lots of short blackfish were chewing…Not alot of keepers but good life and high hook had 3 keeper togs,,and 10 shorts….Tomorrow looks good,,its the rest of the week that looks questionable so tomorrow is the day to go!!Come down,,we have white crabs available and we also caught fish on clams and shrimp today..We have clams as well.See ya tomorrow..
2-4-18 This weather is killing me….not out again today,,no fishing Monday either with the winds….Maybe tuesday,,we shall see….let you know if we are gonna try..
1-28-18 We made out today despite a dismal rainy morning….But unfortunately the fishing was very poor again,,,worse day I have seen yet…Most spots were completely dead..I am glad we are getting some Northeast winds next few days,,hopefully it will mix the water up a little bit cause we need it to get some life going…So no fishing tomorrow,,,I will let you know the next nice to go here on my website…see ya then..
1-27-18 Nice day but it did get lumpy out there in the afternoon…Fishing was slow again,,,maybe a little better than yesterday..The boat had maybe 8-10 blackfish,,all shorts caught mostly on clams….few lings and some small pollocks and a bunch of banana cods…..So tough day again with things to keep but still good to be on the ocean..Weather looks good for tomorrow..just some rain early in the day looks like..We are fishing,,come on down!!!!
1-26-17 It does not get much nicer than it was out there today,,,for January anyway…Flat calm,,could barely hold on the anchors due to no winds…Tons of life around us today,,,Whales,,,seals,,birds diving snatching up herring and mackerel but just not good for fishing..We had a few small blackfish,,one keeper Codfish,,few small pollock and some eels but other than that they were just not in the mood..Hopefully tomorrow they will cooperate a little better,,,,game plan is head back offshore,,maybe even a little further and look for some better life on the bottom….We have the crabs and clams ready to go and it looks like its going to be a nice day offshore!,,,come on down..see ya for coffee..
1-22-18 Another very nice day offshore…only had a small crowd come down today..But we made it out in flat calm seas…To calm actually..at one point is was very tough to keep on the anchors….Ended up with slow fishing again,,handful of small blackfish,,,one keeper…A small codfish,,few small pollock…Few mackerel,,and small whiting..but it was a nice day to be out..just slow fishing….We are gonna not fish tomorrow or Wednesday..Next day is either Thursday or Friday,,I will let you know here..Depends if the winds back off a little….Will let you know…
1-21-18 Flat calm and beautiful out there today,,,for January it was really nice…Fishing was slow again,,could not get the bg fish chewing….Tough to even get bites besides some eels and other exotics…We ended up with 3 keeeper blackfish and maybe a dozen shorts….No ling or Cod today…So slow fishing but very nice to be offshore…As for tomorrow it is looking really nice with light winds so we are fishing..See ya tomorrow..
1-20-18 Made our way offshore in decent conditions today,,got a little lumpy out there but not to bad,,the winds started dropping out this afternoon and went west so we are shaping up for a really nice day Sunday with light westerly winds.As for the fishing today it was very slow…Fish were just not in the mood….Had a few keeper Blackfish,,few ling and some other exotics….Tough day all around…..but tomorrow is another day..We are heading back offshore to see if you we can get some big fish chewing….See ya for coffee!!!
1-19-18 It was good to get back offshore today,…Breezy with west winds about 15 but the ocean was decent with a 2 foot sea….Water hovered about 39-40 degrees out there….Seemed like the bow had the best action today for some reason,,,up there Milky and Joe seemed to have blackfish chewing on most of the drops and in the end they both had 2-3 keepers and numerous shorts including Joe Joe’s pool winning Piggy that went about 13-14lbs…..It was a really fat fish,,,I also watched a couple of other big fish shaved off….All on white crabs….Had 1 or 2 keepers in the back but it seemed those two guys in the bow had the best shot at em….Also had a keeper Codfish and numerous other Banana Cod and a Torpedo Ray…Some perch life as well…So while not a great day still we had some shots at big fish and caught some fish as well…Game plan for Saturday and Sunday is get back out there and looks for some more big Togs….We are fishing..see ya then
1-17-18 Latest update…No fishing Thursday,still gonna be to breezy to get offshore….Friday,Saturday,and Sunday look really nice…we are gonna be fishing offshore in the 15-20 mile range on the rocks and wrecks we did good with big blackfish and some nice codfish the past few winters when it got really cold….This area holds some big fish and it is a good spot to take down the seasonal pool which is getting bigger every week,,now up around 2600 bucks….We have crabs onboard for the blackfish and we also have clams if you want to try codfishing and ling….So see ya Friday morning..
1-16-18 We made it out today with only a small gang onboard…Big ground swell greeted us as we left the inlet but other than that the ocean was nice today…Must have had the snow melt get down deep cause the fishing was no good for the blackfish..Never had a bite with them today,,,even got into deep water and still no chew for us…..We did catch some ling on some of the spots but other than the ling and eels it was no good….We might have to start fishing even further offshore it looks like with all this cold water run off….So next trip is probably gonna be a few days from now…snow tomorrow and wind so stay home until I let you know here….I am gonna keep clams on board along with the crabs so you can take a shot at a Codfish if the blackfish are not biting…also some ling…So as of now plan on fishing further off the beach where we should find better life..Let you know when…
1-14-18 Only a small gang showed up to fish on this cold morning but we made our way out in nice conditions….Fishing was slow,,,very cold and sluggish bites..ended up with maybe 4 keepers and not many shorts..tough day but good to be out…We are shaping up to fish tomorrow but the forecast is better for Tuesday it looks like….See ya tomorrow morning…
1-11-18 Another nice day out there,,warmer than yesterday to…Very comfortable….We picked away at the fish today,,,had some nice moments with good life all around the boat….Never killed em but ended up with catch scattered around the boat,,,high hooks had about 3-4 keepers and numerous shorts…Some had 1 or 2 and of course some had just shorts etc..but overall for the boat I guess we did fare..Some of the fish were nicer today but not the Jumbo variety I would have liked to see but still some nice fish..We had fish on every drop today just some were better than others especially for getting bites around the boat..Check out a few pics,,,Skip won the pool with a quality fish and took home some major cash…Seasonal pool is getting big again to,,,,as for tomorrow we are gonna stay home,,gonna be nasty out there so wait for Saturday morning….See ya this weekend…pic
1-10-18 Very nice day offshore,,,flat calm to….Water dropped alot,,,had 39-43 degrees…I was happy to see fish coming up as soon as we started….It never got good but each spot we picked at some blackfish,,,2,3 or maybe 4 keepers a drop along with a dozen shorts it what we would get before the eels and other exotics started biting…So in the end I was glad to see some fish chewing,,,not in the numbers I would like,,and no big fish today but it was a start for sure..Game plan for tomorrow is head back offshore and look for bigger fish again,,,Today we fished 90-140 feet…probably similar tomorrow..see ya for coffee….pics..
1-3-18 What a day out there today…flat calm and much warmer…If I didnt have the flu it would have been great but I managed to get through the day….The day was good to us to with some quality blackfish coming up….Our pool winner was up around 13 lbs,a big round female tog…we also had two other fish in the 11-12lb range as well,both of these were fat females as well…We also lost some other big piggies to that I saw shaved off…..So we had the shots at the big fish again,,,if the dogs would have left us along I think we could have picked a little better at them..in the end seemed like the bow area had it the best…and high hooks had 3-4 keepers..some one or two etc..whole white crabs drew most of bigger fish..overall I was happy with the catch…check out some pics…No fishing until after the snow storm.probably Saturday or Sunday…I will let you know here when we can get back offshore and into the bigger fish again!!!!!!!!!!
1-1-18 It is brutally cold out there today,,tomorrow is gonna be the same with winds 20-25 mph and gusty…Not good for fishing,.We made alot of ice on the boat yesterday in the same conditions…Rods and reels were completely frozen and it was really tough to fish ….Tuesday(tomorrow)looks the same so stay home….gonna be single digit temps with high winds..just no good to fish,,we can wait for Wednesday…it looks like a nice day where we can get back offshore to look for those big fish again so come down Wednesday and we will head back offshore…see ya then and Happy New Year!!
