Fishing Report

Very nice day today out there,,flat calm for the most part….Fishing picked up a little more today,,more keepers and some ling and a few codfish….Had lots of bites between the dogs,shrot togs,,and other exotics…So I am looking forward to tomorrow..its gonna be very nice again and we are gonna go look for some nice blackfish again so come on down..plenty of room onboard!!

Another day of breezy norhwest winds but the ocean again was very nice….The water cleaned up a little and while the fishing was still not good,it improved today with a few blackfish starting to bite again..We had 3 or 4 keepers and a handful of ling so they are starting to wake up again..I think tomorrow will be even better..So see ya tomorrow for coffee!! Gonna be a nice day…

It was pretty windy today but it was out of the west so the ocean was actually pretty nice…Just a chop for the most part…Fishing was not very productive overall…Blackfish were not in the mood,,,I guess the ripping north current had something to do with it…Plus the swell from the other day…We did have some ling show up,,and lots of big eels but overall a tough day..I am looking for tomorrow to improve so we are fishing!..730am departure..See ya for coffee

Ocean is laying down and we are looking for a nice day tomorrow to get back out and fish…Friday looks good,,730am departure..The weekend looks good as well so let go fish!! I have crabs and clams for bait….See ya tomorrow!

We had some nice day today, ocean was flat calm …Fishing was good to us to…We had non stop action on the bottom around the boat.Loads of blackfish coming up, lots of shorts yes but in between there were keepers…Joe the Plumber was dialed in and had over a double limit of keepers…Others had a limit to, some just had the shorty curse but in the end scattered around the boat we had a nice number of keeper blackfish..We also had some nice ling and a few codfish as well…Plenty of exotic sharks to keep you entertained as well….Great day all around….Next few days look crummy with hard northeast winds so no fishing…I will let you know next nice day…Check out some pics…

Happy Easter everyone!! I am looking forward to getting back out to the fishing grounds tomorrow for our spring blackfish run…I think we are gonna start shallow so be ready for 30-50 feet of water to start, if we don’t have the life we can move deeper but be ready for shallow first…I have both clams and crabs onboard. White leggers are available as well as usual. Also when u arrive in the morning you will see the crew standing there but the boat is still being worked on so I have leased out a temporary boat instead..Right next to me the Miss Belmar Princess so don’t panic if you don’t see the OE…We are gonna fish same crew on the Belmar…Same everything just a different platform. We got set back a few weeks due the bridge breaking in the…

Update from the shipyard is work,work,work getting done…We are proud to announce that our new engines built by Scania power of Sweden are here and we are in the process of repowering the ocean explorer…It is tough to watch our old Detroit engines come out..They have been so reliable and my god did we catch some fish with them..What a great run these motors have had..They were put in about 1978 and rebuilt many times but now its time for new Tier 3 engines that will burn less fuel and have way less exhaust..Plus the boat will be much faster as well…I will keep you updated but we are going to start fishing on April 1st for our spring blackfish run…Also expect some Codfish to be in the mix as they usually are in the spring…So I look forward to…

The update from Belmar is the bridge is still broken in the down position but later today they are supposed to get it in the up position and lock it in place..When that happens we are probably going to go to the shipyard and get our coast guard inspection done..Not quite completely sure yet but I will keep you updated here for when we are fishing again….Thanks!! I am really looking forward to fishing again.!!

Wow what a beautiful day down here at the shore!! The surf is giant though so I am glad I am not offshore.. We are not fishing due to the main street bridge being broke..They are trying to get a repair plan and I will keep you updated on future sailings…..So stand by everyone!
